Rambert are looking for a new class assistant to help the Company's professionally trained dance specialists to deliver dance sessions to participants.
The work of a class assistant is challenging and exciting; supporting the teaching in a variety of settings to people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Many of our workshops requiring assistants take place in the Rambert building. Sessions run throughout the week, and sometimes week-long residencies or weekend courses are delivered.
Rambert has an agreed set of learning outcomes which the class assistant must be able to adapt to meet participants needs in a supporting capacity. Our participants span from complete beginner, to young dancers in training to an adult learner. The class assistant must also have a good grasp of technique and a desire to gain an understanding of the professional dance world, dance in a community context and dance in formal education.
Class assistants act as ambassadors for the company, and are often the main face-to-face point of contact for groups that we work with, many of whom will also be audience members for Rambert and who will have a greater understanding and enjoyment of the performance as a direct consequence of their workshop.
