Siobhan Davies Dance is an artist-led, contemporary arts organisation, founded and led by Siobhan Davies since 1988. We produce and tour the work of Siobhan Davies and other like-minded artists – commissioning new works and creating new partnerships to extend the possibilities for dance within the contemporary arts; we also offer a thought provoking programme of curated events, exhibitions and talks at our Studios, and through our learning and engagement projects.
About the role
We are developing and expanding our programmes for Primary Schools, and are looking for two freelance Dance Artists to support the development and delivery of this programme. Taking the themes and practices of our artistic programme, as led by Siobhan Davies, our education programme translates these creatively for primary school settings.
For their initial engagement, the Dance Artists will work on delivery of our Experience It programme at London primary schools, supported by and working with our current primary specialist Dance Artists. The contract will provide training and development to allow the successful applicant to become a regular contributor to the planning and delivery of our wider Primary School programme.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable professional experience of working as both a dance artist and educator, knowledge of contemporary arts, particularly dance and choreography, and a good understanding of the primary school National Curriculum. They will be an excellent communicator with strong planning and project development skills.
Deadline for applications: Monday 5 September 2016, 12noon.
