Over the next three months Blue Eyed Soul Dance will be working on winding down the company, after pioneering inclusive dance for almost 18 years.
Blue Eyed Soul Dance Company grew from a residency with Candoco Dance Company in 1994, and with Arts Council England support has explored, developed and delivered a highly successful and extensive programme of inclusive dance, locally, nationally and internationally.
The Company's aim has been to create a level playing field where people can step over their threshold of perceived possibility.
However, Blue Eyed Soul are now looking toward the future...
Coming up they have Like Youth Dance group Envision performing at Telford Dance Festival Performance at The Place on Friday 10 February 2012. This will be their last Blue Eyed Soul Dance Company public event.
The CONTACT group are meeting with Blue Eyed Soul one last time to dance a lot, but also to consider their future, which looks bright, thanks to the Gateway Arts and Education Centre, who have agreed to support the group in 2012.
The remaining Dance Transformations artists continue on their individual career development pathways supported by the programme.
A digital archive of the company and their legacy is also being created and will be available shortly.
Rachel Freeman will work as an Independent Dance Artist in association with everyBODY dance, she will specialise in the creation of aerial dance and community performance.
Rachel Liggit will also work as an Independent Dance Artist from March 2012. She will continue to work with a wide range of individuals and organisations within cultural, education and higher education sectors throughout the UK. Focusing on artistic excellence Rachel will continue to delivering projects locally within Shropshire and nationally in education, health, community and professional settings.
Once the company closes at the end of March any future emails you receive from Rachel Freeman or Rachel Liggitt will contain details of new projects and opportunities, alongside new contact details.
Finally, Blue Eyed Soul Dance would like to offer their thanks for your continued support over the years.
