In partnership with De Montfort University, People Dancing has been awarded a Collaborative Research Award through The Culture Capital Exchange programme.
The awards are given to promote the exchange of universities' knowledge
and expertise with the cultural and creative sectors.
Autumn 2016 People Dancing and our principal researcher from DMU, Jayne
Stevens will research issues concerning the capture, interpretation and
dissemination of community and participatory dance practices developed
in the UK over the last 30 years. Our long-term ambition is to develop a
‘living archive’ for such practices.
Our collaborative project is called ‘The Museum of Us: Archiving Community Dance’,
and in December we will launch a fundraising campaign to support the
long-term development of this project. If you are interested in
