Introduction to GOSH Arts

GOSH Arts, the Arts Programme at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) runs a participatory on-site programme of creative activities and events for children, families and staff and commissions site specific art and design for GOSH buildings. We provide unique opportunities that reflect the diversity of GOSH patients, visitors and staff and work with skilled artists and high-profile cultural partners to inspire creativity and learning.

Resident Artist at GOSH

We are recruiting a Resident Artist who identifies as disabled, to deliver weekly, half day performance-based sessions for patients, families and staff in outpatient clinics and inpatient wards. The Resident Artist may have a background in any performance form including dance, music, theatre, spoken word and comedy.

The Resident Artist will have some flexibility to choose the half day they work at GOSH. The day must be the same each week, shifts usually run between the hours of 09:30am – 1:00pm or 1:30 – 5:00pm.

Fees are paid at £250 per day or £140 per half day. Repertoire development and planning is paid in addition to delivery.

Access

We are specifically looking to recruit a disabled artist who can relate to young people and families through lived experience and be representative of our patient population.

We are committed to working with the successful applicant to ensure their access needs are met to carry out the role. For example, we can cover access worker/creative support worker costs, support travel costs, and be involved in the Access to Work application process.
