Lecturer in Dance Education

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience

We wish to make a 2 years fixed-term full-time appointment for a Lecturer in Dance Education to contribute to the development of the Faculty of Education.

You will have a strong education background to be able to contribute to the teaching, assessment and development of dance teacher education and training modules across all Faculty of Education programmes.

Of particular interest are applicants who can also contribute to the following subject areas: dance technique, creative practice, dance in community settings and/or dance histories.

As part of this role, you will also be responsible for the supervision of practical teaching placements as well as undertake administrative duties associated with teaching, day- to-day management and support of students.

  • You should be committed and enthusiastic with an excellent educational background including a postgraduate degree (or near completion of postgraduate degree) or equivalent
  • You will need comprehensive knowledge and experience of teaching and the ability to co-ordinate teaching and other related activities to meet deadlines and targets
  • Moreover, you will have a strong understanding of student support and wellbeing in education and higher education
  • Familiarity and experience with hybrid, blended and distance-learning strategies are essential, as is up to date knowledge and understanding of current educational issues relating to both theory and practice.
