Parkinson's EQUIP bursaries for training in dance for Parkinson's
Three bursary schemes are available at the with a total of 6 places.

Criteria:
  • Your professional base must be primarily in the UK
  • You will be able to demonstrate that you have been working in dance (leading and teaching, performance and creation) for a minimum of 5 years
  • You will have undertaken a course of further or education in dance and/or related arts or have equivalent experience
  • You will tell us why you should receive a bursary and what you hope to achieve through this training opportunity
  • You will want to contribute to creating more opportunities/developing high quality dance experiences for people living with Parkinson's in the UK.
Two bursaries for dance artists who are new to this area of dance practice
Two bursaries for dance artists who are new to this are of practice are available for the 2-day Introduction to dance for Parkinson's course led by David Leventhal (Dance for PD ®) and Danielle Teale (independent practitioner) which will take place on 26 and 27 July 2018. Bursary holders must successfully complete the assessment and online learning programme prior to participation on the course. The bursary value is £150 and can be used towards online and face-to-face course fees, accommodation, travel and subsistence where necessary.

Two leadership bursaries for dance artists

2 leadership bursaries are available for dance artists interested in progressing towards leading this training programme in the future. You will have the opportunity to shadow and support the leadership team (David Levanthal of Dance for PD® and Danielle Teale) across the practical 2-day introductory course in Leicester on 26 and 27 July 2018, including a preparatory Skype meeting with the team prior to the course. For this leadership strand you will be able to demonstrate that you are an experienced dance for Parkinson's practitioner, have a minimum of 3 years' experience leading work in this field and a keen interest in developing a role as a trainer in this context. Evidence of dance teaching qualifications or engagement in related continuing professional development is an advantage. The bursary value is £150 and can be used towards accommodation, travel and subsistence where needed (please note there are no course fees payable for this bursary).

Two bursaries for the Advanced dance for Parkinson's day for dance artists 

Two bursaries are available on the Advanced dance for Parkinson's day (25 July 2018) led by artists from English National Ballet and David Leventhal from Dance for PD ®. Bursary holders will be able to demonstrate that they are experienced dance for Parkinson's practitioners, have a minimum of 3 years' experience leading working in this field and a keen interest in developing their practice in this area of specialism. The bursary value is £75 and can be used towards the course fee, accommodation, travel and subsistence where needed.
