Summer School 2019 bursaries

People Dancing are delighted to have teamed up with Parkinson’s Equip, One Dance UK and the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) to be able to offer a number of bursaries for the 2019 People Dancing Summer School.

Four different bursary schemes, each worth £48.00, are available and only one bursary is available per applicant. Criteria relating to each of the bursary funds can be found below.

 

Bursaries for young people aged 18 to 26

People Dancing Young People’s bursary applicants must:

 

Be between the ages of 18 and 26 on 22 July 2019
Be resident in the UK
Be interested in pursuing a career in dance teaching/leading/facilitation
Be committed to continuing professional development
Have a sound grounding in at least one dance style
Tell us why you should receive a bursary and what you hope to achieve through this training opportunity.

 

Please note: Young People’s bursary applicants are NOT valid for the Advanced course: Leading dance for people with Parkinson’s (please apply for the Parkinson’s Equip bursary if you are seeking a bursary for this course).

EFDSS bursaries for EFDSS or Folk Educator Group members
People Dancing is delighted to have teamed up with the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) to offer two bursaries to EFDSS or Folk Educator Group members.

EFDSS bursary applicants must:

Be over 18 years of age on 22 July 2019 (no upper age limit)
Be resident in the UK 
Be committed to continuing professional development
Have a sound grounding in at least one folk dance style
Tell us why you should receive a bursary and what you hope to achieve through this training opportunity.
 

EFDSS members are also welcome to apply for any of the other bursaries being offered at the People Dancing 2019 Summer School but only one bursary is available per applicant.

Parkinson's EQUIP bursaries

Parkinson’s Equip bursaries are only available for people wishing to attend the Advanced course: Leading improvisation for people with Parkinson’s course.

Criteria:

  • Your professional base must be primarily in the UK
  • You will be able to demonstrate that you have been working in dance (leading and teaching, performance and creation) for a minimum of 5 years
  • You will have undertaken a course of further or education in dance and/or related arts or have equivalent experience
  • You will tell us why you should receive a bursary and what you hope to achieve through this training opportunity
  • You will want to contribute to creating more opportunities/developing high quality dance experiences for people living with Parkinson's in the UK.
  •  

    Parkinson’s Equip bursary holders will be able to demonstrate that they are experienced dance for Parkinson's practitioners, have a minimum of 3 years' experience leading working in this field and a keen interest in developing their practice in this area of specialism.

    One Dance UK bursaries

    One Dance UK bursaries are only available for people wishing to attend the Teaching Dance in Primary School course.

     

    Bursary applicants must:

    Be over 18 on 22 July 2019
    Be resident in the UK
    Be interested in pursuing a career in dance teaching / leading / facilitation
    Be committed to continuing professional development
    Have a sound grounding in at least one dance style
