Dance Woking seeks a dynamic and highly motivated individual to undertake the role of Marketing Officer to lead the marketing for Dance Woking’s exciting new project Happenchance.
Contract: Fixed-term until December 31 2017, 2 days per week
Reports to: Executive Producer/Director
Annual leave: 24 days per annum (pro rata)

About the role
The Marketing Officer will manage a Communications Intern and a Communications Apprentice, and support the Executive Producer/Director in the delivery of Dance Woking’s exciting and ambitious Happenchance project.
The Marketing Officer will be responsible for the successful delivery of Dance Woking’s Happenchance Project marketing plan using your experience to enhance the plan. The role will lead on the branding and re-positioning of Dance Woking, with a particular emphasis on community outreach, audience development, and a new strand which is to develop a small to middle scale professional dance programme in, Woking.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for leading the strategic direction of Dance Woking Marketing and Communications plans and overseeing their delivery by the Communications team
- Working with the Executive Producer/Director to set overall communications goals and objectives
- Responsibility for devising and delivering on specific projects and promotional campaigns, including in particular: • [Happenchance project]
- Responsibility for ensuring that all website content is up to date, fit for purpose and delivered on time
- Line management of the Communications Intern, a 12-month traineeship, including structuring the training programme for that post.
As the lead role within the Communications team, the Marketing Officer will need to develop good working relationships and clear lines of communication with the team’s clients: e.g. participating schools, Woking Borough Council, Community Dance groups and Professional Dance Companies etc.
