In addition to the Equality Act, the Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination.

In addition to the Equality Act, the Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination on a wide range of grounds, including ‘sex, colour, language, religion, political and other opinion, national or social origin, association with a national minority, property, birth or other status (including sexual orientation, illegitimacy, marital status, trade union membership, tanssexualism and imprisonment. It has also been used to challenge discrimination on the basis of age and disability.
