People Dancing in the Summer 2022

A unique professional development opportunity for dance artists and practitioners, offering a diverse programme of pathways and short courses led by outstanding artists and teachers, designed to refresh and reignite.

This three-day event offered practical courses providing learning and skills development, connection with peers and time for reflection. There was also optional morning classes, evening online panel sessions, lunchtime performances, and opportunities to network - all designed to enrich the experience.

There was also optional morning classes, evening online panel sessions, lunchtime performances, and opportunities to network - all designed to enrich your experience.

These courses were suitable for dance artists and practitioners at different stages of their careers wishing to learn with others in an inspiring, supportive and creative environment.

In addition to the courses, you could also attend the optional early morning practical sessions and the online speaker sessions, as well as the lunchtime networking and performances. Participants attending a half-day course only were also invited to attend a 90-minute peer sharing and advice session on the same day.

  2. Community dance practice: Core career skills with Claire Pring, Laura Jones (Stopgap) and guest Anna Leatherdale who will outline the new Participatory Arts Qualifications
  3. Community dance practice: The superpowers of reflection & evaluation! with Claire Pring and George Fellows
  4. Live Well & Dance with Parkinson’s: Finding flow... with Dr Sophia Hulbert, Heidi Wilson and Dr Sara Houston
  5. Co-creating Opera: What for? An online talk with community artist & writer François Matarasso
  6. Wellbeing in practice and practise: Your needs, my needs, our needs with Jane Chan, Shivaangee Agrawal and Meera Patel
  7. People, places and unusual spaces! with Luca Silvestrini (Protein).
