Disability Arts Online has reproduced Hassan Mahamdallie's essay 'Beyond Cultural Diversity: the case for creativity'. An essay from a Third Text publication, compiled and edited by Richard Appignanesi.

In this publication, Third Text, Arts Council England and their contributors set out to examine and analyse a number of key issues relating to diversity, equality and the arts. This is important and timely for a number of reasons. There has been extensive public consultation, which has been looked at closely.

This publication has been produced to provoke and stimulate a wider debate within and beyond the arts community, and to provide a platform that invites everyone who cares about the future of the arts, whether as arts practitioners and professionals, funders and the public, to make their contribution.

It is hope that from this organisations and artists will engage with this work, and as a result organise workshops and discussion groups that will help to create a lively and modern debate.
