Associate Lecturer in Dance & Performance
Location: St John’s Campus
Salary: £41.19 per hour inc. preparation, marking & course administration plus £9.06 per hour holiday pay

We are seeking to appoint an experienced sessional lecturer to contribute to teaching on our Dance and Performance BA (Hons) programmes.

The successful candidate will join a team of enthusiastic and committed staff within the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Production in the Institute of Arts and Humanities. Successful applicants will be placed on a register of sessional lecturers and will be contacted as teaching opportunities arise.

The Dance and Performance programme is a dynamic and industry-focused course that prepares students for employment across the dance and performance sectors. The curriculum emphasises practical skill development, professional practice, and employability, with theory embedded within applied and creative contexts

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience and expertise in the following areas:

Essential:

  • Teaching or professional experience in Repertoire
  • Teaching or professional experience in Dance and Wellbeing
  • Teaching or professional experience in Creative Movement
  • Ability to choreograph and develop original work with undergraduate students
  • Availability to teach in Worcester on Friday afternoons (in semester 1).

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching in Higher Education or equivalent professional training settings
  • Experience in a variety of dance styles.
