About this membership

People Dancing's Educational Membership is open to any organsiation or institution offering further, higher, or vocational training in dance and related subjects.

There are two Educational Membership options:

• For Institutions: offering benefits to lecturers, course leaders, and departmental teams, and support quality enhancements for students to access vital information about the spectrum of dance practices; help inform their transition into professional practice and gain positive employment outcomes

• For Libraries: offering a subscription to our magazine, Animated, for libraries within institutions or public libraries.

Offered exclusively to those running dance education programmes, and libraries - and designed specifically with student learning in mind - this is an innovative opportunity to secure a valuable range of benefits to help prepare students for professional dance practice. Suitable for:

• Universities
• Colleges
• Conservatoires and dance schools
• Libraries.

What are the benefits of this membership?

Educational Membership for institutions provides support for your programme and students with access to a wealth of resources for the duration of their studies, including:

• A lecture visit from a People Dancing staff member - we can meet with you and your students, once each year (subject to dates & availability), to introduce People Dancing's services and offer a current perspective on community dance practice
• Animated - the community dance magazine - and exclusive online resources and information sheets via a website login
• Highly preferential and reduced fees for our internationally acclaimed online courses and qualifications, and our publications
• Access to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check service (England & Wales) for your staff and students (additional charges apply)
• Member certificate and logos for use on your publicity or marketing materials with the option to add your organisation/company name to our website.

In addition, FREE Student Membership is offered to all your students for the duration of their studies, meaning that they'll be able to access:

• Online resources - covering a broad range of subjects, including downloadable factsheets and our newsletters
• The extensive archive of Animated - the community dance magazine 
• Preferential and reduced fees for training, qualifications and publications.

At the end of their studies, Student Members can convert to Individual Membership, with £10 off the fee, to receive benefits such as Public Liability insurance cover for dance work and an enhanced DBS Check service.

Educational Membership for libraries provides:

• Animated - the community dance magazine both in print and online including access to the extensive archive
• Exclusive access to online resources and information sheets via a website login.

Once you sign up - which is quick and easy to do online - you'll immediately receive your Welcome Pack by email, including the following:

• A personalised Membership Certificate and Membership number
• Information about making the most of your Membership
• A selection of Member Logos
• A payment receipt.

What is the cost to join?

Educational Membership is available for twelve months from the date of joining in two different categories:

1. Institutions

• Joining/Renewal fee: £300.00 (£250 + £50 VAT)

2. Libraries

• Joining/Renewal fee: £66.00 | Europe: £78.00 | Rest of World (ROW): £90.00.
