Become a Friend of People Dancing and pay it forward
Becoming a Friend of
People Dancing means that you'll be supporting our new bursary
fund for dancers committed to developing their knowledge and skills for
their work in dance with people and communities, but who face
financial barriers to doing so.
We know that the landscape for dancers has become tougher in the
last few years, not least of all financially. This new open-access
bursary fund - created by donations from our Friends - will enable dancers experiencing financial hardship to access People Dancing's training,
professional development opportunities and qualifications.
Becoming a Friend of People Dancing will make a real difference to a
dancer experiencing financial hardship to access new skills - that will crucially open up new avenues to access paid work in dance.
Each Friend's donation of £80 will support the cost of an online course and qualification
to learn and evidence new skills, or attendance and travel costs for one
of our in-person workshops to gain invaluable in-studio training with
experts in the field. It will support dancers
to:
- Access our training, professional development opportunities and qualifications
- Cover
the cost of online training courses and in-person workshops, transport, care or access costs
- Open up new avenues to paid work in dance.
We
can claim a further 25% of the value of each Friend's donation through
the government’s Gift Aid scheme (for UK taxpayers) – which rather
brilliantly means that a donation of £80 is worth £100 to us at no extra cost to you!
(PS: you can be a Friend and a Member!)
