About the Language of Dance Trust
The Language of Dance Trust is a registered charity that promotes dance for all using the unique Language of Dance movement approach. Using a framework of symbols and movement concepts from the developments of Ann Hutchinson Guest, we work across schools, community groups, and professional development settings to inspire and support creativity in movement and learning.
About the Role
- The Language of Dance Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Dance Leader to teach sessions for children/young people with profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities in schools in North/East London
- Sessions will explore different movement elements and incorporate a variety of stimuli through the Language of Dance Approach
- Initially the Leader will shadow our Outreach Projects Manager as well as receive any additional training as required. The timescale will be dependent on the candidate’s skills and previous experience working with SEND participants. On completion of training, the Dance Leader will then work independently with a number of schools
- The ideal candidate will have prior experience in delivering dance in educational settings and working with people with Special Educational Needs.

- Must integrate LOD concepts and framework into teaching sessions
- Prepare and submit session plans; record attendance and session feedback

Person Specification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Confidence in engaging with new people and building professional relationships
- Relevant training through a recognised dance organisation and/or dance university or qualification
- Able to take responsibility for own work and manage time effectively
