Front of House Duty Manager
Location: Leeds
Salary: £10,202.40 annual contract

Do you have a passion for the arts and want to work in a busy performing arts venue? Can you provide exceptional customer service and accurate admin skills? Are you confident in duty managing a small, friendly team in a fast-paced environment? Yorkshire Dance are looking for a Duty Manager to oversee our Front of House team in their busy dance studios including managing box office and supporting with admin tasks.

Duties and key responsibilities

Reception

  • Be the first point of contact and ensure a warm welcome to all visitors to the building, maintaining high standards of customer care and ensuring only legitimate visitors are allowed access.
  • Deal with general enquiries on the telephone and at reception, taking messages and accepting parcels for staff, dance tutors, visiting artists, tenants and participants as required.
  • While on shift, manage other FOH members, supporting their development and ensuring tasks are completed and help to find cover for shifts the following day, where required.
  • Be a key-holder ensuring the building is locked securely at the end of every day and that the site is safe and ready for unlocking at the start of each day. Box Office
  • Sell tickets for classes, performances and festivals using our CRM system, Salesforce. (Full training will be provided) and run daily reports of takings.
  • Generate income through promotion of Yorkshire Dance events and services and active selling of tickets and merchandise.
  • Take box office enquiries over the phone, face to face and online.
  • Support the Front of House team to meet box office targets (set around festivals) by selling and upselling events and train Front of House team on Salesforce as required.
  • Run daily reports of takings and ticket sales via Salesforce.? 
  • Cash handling and reconciliation for daily takings of reception desk.

Administration

Support the marketing and development team with administrative and marketing tasks, including evaluation of events and projects using data from Salesforce Sept 2026 Facilities Support Ensure the security and safety of all building users.

This includes overseeing Front of House team and their duties while on shift, which include:

  • Signing in procedures, completing basic maintenance tasks or reporting maintenance issues and contacting contractors on emergency numbers when required.
  • Assist with the preparation of hired spaces including setting up and clearing away furniture and equipment in studios and meeting rooms, ensuring presentation is to a good standard and any issues are reported.
  • Serve refreshments as necessary, including setting up and clearing away catering for internal and external hires.
  • Checking facilities within the building to ensure all public areas are clean, tidy and free from obstruction.
  • Manage and report on any building incidents or accidents, including fire and security.
  • Support Yorkshire Dance regular and ad-hoc events as required, including managing welcome desks and supporting workshops/talks/exhibitions.
  • Act as an usher and/or manage the bar during performance events and festivals.
