Dancers Connected is about building a clearer picture of what it is really like to train, work and sustain a professional career as a dancer in Scotland today.

Join Engage and Artworks Alliance in Bristol for a day of sharing, discussing, and making together on the topic of ‘Power Shift’. How to share or shift power in our practices, arts programmes, projects and commissions, and what new or reimagined approaches will help us to navigate the changing socio-political landscape.

In September, Usha Mahenthiralingam presents a session called ‘Body as Home, Body as Compass’ which explores movement, embodiment and Creative Wellbeing. In this experiential workshop, interdisciplinary artist and somatic movement practitioner Usha offers a hands-on exploration of how simple movement patterns can support our structural awareness, regulate nervous systems and nourish our capacity to learn, create, and connect.

This conference is an opportunity for the creative health sector to come together for nourishment, knowledge and support.

In October there will be an Introduction to ‘The Hubbub Way’. Open to artists, teachers or practitioners who use movement, dance and theatre, The Hubbub Way is an innovative, established training programme, designed to give arts practitioners ways to bring accessibility into their creative practice; and to guide and facilitate devising theatre and performance for people of all ages and abilities.

In October Kim Bormann presents, ‘Five Body Elements of CircularDynamics’ featuring Kim’s unique methodology for exploring spaces: ‘CircularDynamics’. Informed by Taoist practice and somatic awareness, this inclusive practice allows participants to access and be present in the moment, providing a toolkit to explore space, body and objects through movement, and using features of the room itself.

This two-day experiential training is designed for Dance Artists and Movement Psychotherapists who want to develop confidence, ideas, and practical skills for leading therapeutic movement and wellbeing groups.
