The postholder will lead fundraising activity, identify and secure grant funding opportunities, build relationships with funders and supporters, and explore new sources of earned income to strengthen the charity's long-term sustainability.

The General Manager will provide leadership and support to staff and volunteers, creating a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture. Responsibilities include recruitment, induction, performance management, workforce planning, staff development and wellbeing. The role will ensure that individuals have the support, skills and opportunities needed to contribute effectively to the organisation's success.

The postholder will play a central role in developing new opportunities that support DWB's mission and strategic ambitions. This includes building partnerships across the health, arts, community and voluntary sectors, identifying unmet community needs, developing new projects and services, and securing the resources required to increase the organisation's impact.

Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the General Manager will ensure strong governance, effective risk management and compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. This includes responsibility for safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion, data protection and the maintenance of appropriate organisational policies and procedures.

They will help raise awareness of the organisation's work, develop relationships with key stakeholders and promote the positive impact of DWB across North Yorkshire and beyond.
