NSCD emphasise the importance of situating embodied experience within its cultural context and therefore they are looking for applicants that work with an awareness of how practice relates to cultural, political and sociological issues and work with inclusive practice at the forefront of their teaching. The applicant will need to be able to deliver physical classwork relevant to contemporary dancers to a high level, engaging with the training, education and creative development of emerging dance artists. NSCD are particularly interested in applicants from underrepresented groups.

As well as teaching duties, the employee will work with colleagues to coordinate and contribute to the planning, development and delivery of an inspiring Higher Education curriculum, within a Conservatoire setting. The postholder will work with the Head of Faculties/Director of Studies in the administration of modules, working with Curriculum Leads to inform currency and development in the teaching of contemporary dancers. The role will actively contribute to course promotion and student recruitment.
