Together, you'll explore identity, belonging and contemporary Wales through an enquiry-based approach that connects learning to the real lives of learners and their communities.
As schools continue their curriculum journeys, many are seeking practical ways to strengthen authentic and inclusive approaches to Cynefin and ensure diverse perspectives are reflected across learning. Cynefin: culturally and ethnically diverse Wales responds to this need by providing teachers with enquiry-based opportunities to develop rich, representative curricula that help learners understand their place in Wales and the world. Schools taking part will develop a deeper, more nuanced and inclusive understanding of Cynefin by exploring the diverse cultural and ethnic identities that help shape contemporary Wales.
Cynefin: culturally and ethnically diverse Wales is now open to applications from state-maintained schools and pupil referral units in Wales. We invite teachers from across Wales to join an ever-growing creative learning community of school educators to connect with inspirational Creative Learning Partners. Wherever possible, we will work with Creative Learning Partners from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds who bring authenticity and lived experience to this work.
Participating schools will receive:
- £1,500 funding.
- One day of training.
- 10 days of support from a Creative Learning Partner.
- Ongoing support from Creative Learning Cymru.
You don't need a detailed project plan or prior Creative Learning experience to apply. In fact, curiosity and openness are the best place to start.
Application deadline: 5pm, Thursday 9 November 2026.
