Hubbub Theatre in Derby continues their movement-based inclusive Dance Development activity with Continual Professional Development Training sessions for dance and movement artists, training professionals or students at the Chapel Street venue in September and October.
Hubbub’s Dance Development Project aims to support professional dance and movement artists in developing their inclusive practice and develop diverse leadership. Following successful grant funding from Arts Council England, a Small Arts Grant from Derby City Council and contributions from other local partners, Hubbub’s Dance Development Project also includes bursaries, artists residencies and performance events. CPD Training sessions have already taken place with Debi Hedderwick, Sara Rose and Jen Sumner; and conclude with two inclusive practice sessions from Usha Mahenthiralingam and Kim Bormann; as well as a chance to join Hubbub’s unique training methodology ‘The Hubbub Way’.
Kim Bormann ‘Five Body Elements of CircularDynamics’ takes place on 20th October, from 10am to 4pm. The full day session is £50 per person, with concessions available.
Kim Bormann is a Chinese-German heritage dance artist, facilitator and performer who combines somatic relevance and choreographic composition through exploring objects and settings, blurring the lines of workshop and performance.
There will be time for reflection of how to nurture individual movement practice, and participants are invited to bring along a personal object to explore within the session.
