This session turns the spotlight on academia. Four former professional dancers, who have subsequently developed distinguished careers in academia, will share their unique journey: describing how dance has shaped their careers and specialist areas of research:
- Professor Gregory Sporton
Associate Head of College, Research & Knowledge Exchange, College of Creative Arts & Technologies, University of Westminster.
- Susan Jones
Professor in English (Emeritus), St Hilda's College, University of Oxford
- Professor Angela Pickard
Director, Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health, Canterbury Christ Church University
- Dr Heidi Ashton
Reader in Cultural and Creative Ecologies, The University of Warwick.
The event will also be an opportunity to find out more about how Dancers’ Career Development enables dancers to progress their careers beyond the stage, and our exciting future plans.
Free to attend, with light refreshments provided, the event is open to anyone interested in our work.
Thursday 12 November, 5.30pm–7.30pm, University of Westminster, Zone 29, 29 Marylebone Road, London, NW1 5J.
