Supported by Arts Council England, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Fabric, this project aims to establish a new company for older professional contemporary dancers and explore how the techniques that shaped contemporary dance continue to evolve in older bodies.
The first phase of the project will include 4 workshops. These free workshops are open to professional contemporary dancers from across the UK aged 45 and over. Working with professional choreographers, participants will explore Graham, Cunningham, Humphrey-Weidman and Limón-based approaches alongside the development of movement material for two new works.

10.00am–5.00pm
Workshops will be taking place at The Hub Studio, Birmingham Royal Ballet, The Hippodrome, Thorpe Street, Birmingham, B5 4TB.
Participants are welcome to attend one, several or all of the workshop days.
These workshops form the first stage of a three-phase project.
Following the workshops, ten dancers will be selected to join the company and work with choreographers and composers to develop two new pieces, culminating in an industry sharing designed to build relationships with programmers and commissioners and support the future development of the company and its work.
If you are a professional contemporary dancer aged 45+ and would like to be part of this exciting new initiative, we'd love to hear from you.
