In
1997 the Foundation for Community Dance was awarded an A4E Main Scheme
grant for a three-year programme of work. A central element of the
programme was to undertake a mapping exercise to establish the scale
and range of community dance practice in England.
The research
focused on dance activity led by professional community dance artists,
and organised by dance companies and agencies, in other words dance
activity receiving some kind of subsidy from public sector finances,
locally, regionally or nationally.
Mapping Community Dance reports on the findings of this research. It was published in March 2002.
