Pete’s dance practice is built on foundations in Yoga, Feldenkrais and embodied improvisational ideas.
It will be an open, friendly, and fun warm up for people to connect with their own bodies and minds for the day ahead. No pressure, just taking pleasure in dancing together.
About Pete Shenton
Pete is a dance artist, comedy performer, deviser, writer, director and teacher. He is one half of pioneering comedy dance theatre makers New Art Club with whom he has been presenting groundbreaking performances nationally and internationally since 2001. Their work has been translated for performance into French and Mandarin.
Pete is resident director of Unanima Theatre Company who devise work based on the lived experience of the company, all of whom have learning and or developmental disabilities.
He is the Programme Leader for MA Choreography at De Montfort University, where he is also studying for a PhD by Extended Professional Experience.
In his spare time he loves going to gigs with his partner and to the football with his son (though the latter is a mixed blessing as he supports Leicester City).
