The role
The Chair will lead an engaged, diverse Board of Trustees, working closely with the Artistic Director/CEO and Executive Director to provide clear strategic direction, robust governance and effective support for the company’s growth.
They will oversee delivery of our vision and business plan, champion TDC’s values, act as an ambassador for the organisation and line-manage the Artistic Director/CEO.
The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and the time to contribute actively to quarterly Board meetings, key events and ongoing dialogue with the executive team (around fifteen days per year).

We are seeking someone who is inspired by TDC’s mission to transform audiences’ experience of dance and to ignite public appetite for bold, immersive work.

- Proven track record of thinking and acting strategically
- Demonstrable commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and willingness to take action to ensure the organisation is representative
- Able to devote sufficient time to fulfil the role effectively
- Able to assure/command the respect of key institutional stakeholders (current and prospective).
Desirable:
- Prior experience of charity governance
- An interest in arts, culture and/or wider creative sectors
- Affinity with the Midlands region.
