The five guides, collectively called Doing Arts are practical information sources for those helping people with a learning disability to engage in a range of arts.
They contain images and contributions from leading arts organisations and authorities in the field of learning disability arts. The guides can be purchased as a set or individually. Each one focuses on a different discipline of the arts containing specialist advice and tips from the contributors:
- Doing Drama: Tim Wheeler, Artistic Director of Mind the Gap theatre company
- Doing Photography: Ivan Riches, freelance photographer working with Action Space
- Doing Dance: Susan Norwood, Education Director of Anjali Dance Company.
- Doing Visual Art: Kate Adams, Artistic Director of Project Art Works
- Doing Music: Gus Garside, Mencap National Arts Co-ordinator and Rod Paton of Life Music
The guides are available for £5 each or £20 for all five (free to Mencap affiliated groups).
