People Dancing Summer Intensive 2023
Join us this Summer, in our home city of our Leicester, for one or both days of People Dancing's Summer 2023 Intensive. This magical mix of inspiring, creative courses and workshops with artists from the leading edge of community and participatory dance - formally known as our Summer School - has been established since 2009. It's become an annual highlight for development & training with, for and by dancers, teaching artists and community practitioners.
  • Choose from six lively, relevant practical studio-based courses and two classroom-based workshops on complementary skills crucial to resilience in the current climate for the arts
  • Suitable for all career stages - often encouraging an effective blend of them for mutual learning and co-mentorship - for students, teachers and leaders of community and participatory dance and other performing arts specialists with an interest in the field
  • Focussed time to fill up on inspiration for the year to come by deepening your current practice or exploring new avenues
  • Cost-conscious, with an Early Bird price and fee reductions for Members of People Dancing, hosted in an accessible venue
  • Chances to network with peers as passionate as you from near and far, the welcoming People Dancing team and a general emphasis on respite, refreshment, and the joy of together!
All courses are one-day, from 10:00 - 5:30 UTC +1. Registration is from 09:00 UTC+1. Please pick one course for Wednesday and one course for Thursday.
